Have you noticed that the cost of living has gone up? What used to cost $2.59 a pound now is around $4, the fan that cost $8.99 last week, costs $12.99 this week and it feels like wherever you go it's the same thing. There are ways to save money and cut costs, here's a few ideas... * eBay is still the best place to go for a bargain. People may go to eBay to make extra money or to create an online business to run full time, but the real secret about eBay is the bargains that you can buy. You can purchase food, vitamins, clothes and anything that you want on eBay. You can get bargains on designer clothes, purses and computers. You can buy large quantities at wholesale costs. * Craigslist is right there at the top of the list, too for finding bargains. The good thing about Craigslist is that you can buy local. * Yard Sales. The finds at local yard sales are phenomenal. Recent finds include a brand new, never used vintage all wood rocking chair - in an antique store or used furniture store the price would have been around $200, my find only cost $10. The fun in going to yard sales is in the treasure hunt. * Grow your own vegetables. Even if you have a small apartment, you can still grow veggies. Do a cost comparison of growing your own veggies and buying the same amount in a store. Take a tomato plant for instance, grow your own and you get to pick fresh tomatoes in quantity, compare that to buying tomatoes by the pound - you will find that that little tomato plant may save you nearly $100. * You can get huge bags of seeds from Johnny Seeds, start lots of plants, sell some in your local area and keep some for yourself.
